Tarot and oracle reading is a beautiful spiritual practice that promotes and nurtures self-discovery and connection to the Divine and to your Higher Self.
Both tarot and oracle cards are simply “directive tools,” as they offer guidance, clarity, and a new perspective — often pointing us toward something we already knew, but needed an outside vision on.
From my personal experience in psychic tarot reading and oracle card reading, I can honestly say that they’ve both helped me to get more clear and connected to an answer I’m seeking and remembering that the answers are always within me. All it takes is to look and SEE.
Tarot Cards were first developed in the 14th century, mainly used for games, however, in the 18th century they became a powerful tool in spiritual divination. Later on, besides the traditional tarot cards, oracle cards became mainstream as well, and many tarot readers have mastered their skills in doing accurate readings through oracle cards.
Tarot cards tend to have a “traditional structure” to both the deck and their common meanings. Most tarot decks that I’ve been working with since the beginning of my tarot reading journey are based on the original Rider-Waite deck.
This is why most tarot card decks share common themes and messages. However, depending on the art or theme of the deck, the visuals may differ, but often the messaging behind that card is quite similar.
Also, I have a word of advice for you if you are interested in tarot card reading, either as a practitioner or as a usual user.
Use whatever deck calls out to you! Don’t worry too much about rules and logistics. Just use your intuition to guide you in choosing the right tarot deck for you. You will be surprised of your heart’s choices.
Oracle cards reading is a very “free-flowing” way of communicating with the Universe.
Oracle cards tend to be more broad and can be interpreted in many ways, as they contain many different types of beautiful content.
With tarot cards, there are usually 78 cards within a deck. There are some decks with more or less of the amount of cards, but it is typically 78 cards in total. In contrast, oracle cards decks have no set number of cards in a deck.
An oracle card reading spread can be done with as little as 10 cards, up to over 100 cards. My personal favourite artist and psychic healer is Kyle Gray. His gorgeous oracle decks have been with me since the very first day of my spiritual healing journey, and up to this date, I am still excited for all the new decks that he keeps on publishing.
A tarot and oracle reading can be done in multiple ways, however, there are 3 main ways in which I’ve mastered my psychic gifts whilst using this powerful divination tool:
This type of reading can focus on a specific area of your life (such as love, career, life, etc.), and it is a simple request for guidance that is not tied to a particular problem.
It is an opportunity for your inner guide to communicate what you most need to know at a given moment. It covers your long-term growth and development, and it offers a higher level of guidance that embraces larger patterns that are shaping your everyday experiences.
Open readings can be extremely powerful. They are especially useful when you are standing on the threshold of a new phase, as they can help you adjust to new or unpredictable situations ahead of time.
Ultimately, these readings give a person insight to past, current and future events based on his/her current path at the time of the reading. Tarot and oracle cards don’t reveal what will happen, but instead, they allow you to gain an understanding of a situation and determine the best course of action based on what is known and what the cards show.
Whenever I do an open Tarot or oracle card reading, I don’t follow a specific rule or a set amount of cards that I read for my clients.
Instead, I let my intuition guide me, and based on that, wonderful messages come to the surface, which serve the receiver in the highest good of all, either that be a single message (a single card), or more.
This type of reading is extremely powerful and healing as well, as it allows you to find all the answers and guidance that you need after your question(s) have been intentionally set out to the Divine.
Usually, I would start by asking you if there is anything that you feel challenged by at this particular time in your life, or if you have a question in mind that you’ve been struggling to find an answer to.
Once your question has been formed and addressed (out loud or in your mind’s eye), I can safely connect with my Spirit Guides and channel their message(s) for you through 3 cards:
Card 1 – The Energy Of The Day that is particularly important for you to tap into
Card 2 – A Challenge that you must overcome
Card 3 – An Opportunity that you must grasp and make the most out of now
However, as I said before, there’s no right or wrong way to facilitate a tarot and oracle reading. Sometimes, the cards could represent something completely different, for an example:
Card 1 – Represents the Strengths you have at this time
Card 2 – Represents the Challenge, the part of your life or guidance that you must focus on in order to achieve a goal or the peace you are asking for
Card 3 – Represents the Blessings that you have in your heart now
I find tarot and Oracle cards to be an amazing guidance system, which can give us a great overview of our journey through life, and it helps us unpack all the deeper layers of Self.
These cards either confirm what we’re already intuitively contemplating upon, or they can serve as signposts that navigate us through specific areas of our life.
With this in mind, as I am deeply connected with the Angelic Realm, as well as with our Ancestors, as I’ve mentioned earlier, most often I connect with Kyle Grey’s Oracle Cards:
However, based on the person’s energetic field, aura and intention at the time of the reading, I always let myself guided towards the deck that will benefit you the most.
Additionally, I can channel further guidance and messages from my many other tarot and oracle decks that I hold dearly in my heart.
I am a passionate learner, and I always try to apply new techniques to discover new card decks and to develop and embody new ways of serving my clients in the best ways possible.
